"My current goals are to break the Canadian Records in the snatch and Clean & Jerk, compete internationally for Canada,  and to qualify for the East Regional."

About Chad: I started CrossFit in 2010 as a means to add something else to my conventional workouts, which eventually transitioned into doing only CrossFit.

I floated around the competitive CrossFit scene for a few years, holding my own but always losing ground on the "strength" portion. Being 5'2" and weighing 135 lbs doesn't put you at a huge advantage for any heavy barbell workouts. I continued to build strength as it was necessary to survive with the big boys.

In November of 2014, I found myself passing time and looked at the Ontario Records for what would be my weight class in Olympic Weightlifting. To my surprise, my PRs were already higher than the current records, so I decided to switch some gears and start weightlifting.

That year, I won 3rd place at Provincials and climbed higher to win Gold at Nationals, during which I broke the Ontario Records in the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk for the M62kg class. The following year, I returned to take gold at Provincials and gold again at Nationals: all while still doing CrossFit.

My current goals are to break the Canadian Records in the Snatch and Clean & Jerk, compete internationally for Canada, and to qualify for the East Regional.

Day to day, I am coaching and working with my staff at Maple City CrossFit, working with remote programming clients around North America, and living every moment to it's fullest.
